Our Story

Hi, my name is Clark. Nice to meet you.

I grew up in the forested mountains on Northern Idaho. There, I developed a deep appreciation for the natural world. But I didn’t grow up thinking much about the world beyond Idaho’s borders.

In 2018 I moved to Paris, a gateway to the world. Everywhere I went I saw how human activity impacts the environment in different and unique ways. At the same time, I entered a university classroom where climate change was taught for the first time. I quickly dedicated myself to learning about how humans are impacting our planet.

With degrees in International Politics, Environmental Studies, and Media and Communications, I decided the best way to apply myself would be to share the information I learned with as many people I can. I had concurrently developed a love of podcasts during the COVID-19 confinements, this seemed the clear way forward.

The name Pine Forest Media is inspired by the Idaho landscape I grew up in, recognizing we sometimes have to go back to our roots to grow branches. Now, it is a collaborative media endeavor dedicated to bringing science to the internet through accessible, creative, and critical podcast journalism.

When I was in my high school biology class, I used to think science was its own separate, isolated, and horrific discipline. Now, I seek to encourage the scientist in everyone and challenge the idea that science stands alone. Instead I offer a Science AND approach. Science and economy. Science and government. Science and communication. Science and art.
